ABOUT TABMA TRAINING

TABMA Training is one of the largest national providers of vocational training and assessment to the forest and timber industry in Australia.

TABMA Training is a business of FITEC Australia Pty Ltd and is registered by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) and delivers nationally recognised vocational qualifications and a range of short course training across all sectors of the forest and timber industry, including sales, warehousing and logistics.

Established in 1998 as a not for profit industry association, TABMA Training is governed by industry members.

Our focus is on quality training outcomes rather than profits. TABMA Training operates on a training demand basis therefore it responds quickly to training demand and schedules training based on the individual customers identified needs.

TABMA Training recognises that the forest industry is a ‘thin training market’ which is dispersed widely, often in remote locations. It does not as a rule, schedule training activities and expect employers to fit into that schedule, rather it consults with employers to ensure offerings match the needs of clients.

Although TABMA Training is head-quartered in Queensland, FITEC delivers training on a demand basis throughout Australia.

  • It’s so much easier that I thought it would be – I just signed a piece of paper and TABMA Training took care of everything else.

Mark Pagram – J.H. Williams, Murwillumbah
  • Out of everything that TABMA Training does, it’s their commitment to quality outcomes for trainees that has impressed me. I am extremely grateful for their dedication in this area.

Rob McMaster – Redland Bay Roof Trusses
  • The training with TABMA Training has been very positive. We have more than half our technical staff enrolled in either Certificate III, IV or Diploma. There have been noticeable improvements to daily work performance and productivity.

    Ross Glennie (Owner) – Trusscorp
  • I found that putting my people through a TABMA Training traineeship is more cost effective than sending the worker off to TAFE. The training being in the workplace means that the trainee is totally focused on their job and it, of course, eliminates travel time. I feel that TABMA Training offers this company a lot more flexibility than other training programs.
